The Ultimate Test — Every Mechanic from the Game Converges
This boss is only accessible after collecting all Core Stones and completing the True Ending path. Make sure you have all upgrades before attempting.
The Ember Core Guardian has 3 phases. Lightning can be blocked — do NOT try to dodge it. The black grab attack has huge range and is hard to avoid — consider ignoring it. In Phases 2 and 3, managing your Pyron gauge is critical — if it reaches zero, you take a lethal counter-attack.
The boss is in its large form with powerful, slow attacks. Learn the patterns by watching — most attacks are well-telegraphed. The main danger is the black grab attack which has extremely long range and is difficult to dodge.
A wide horizontal sweep attack. Counter: Jump over or back-dash.
A devastating grab with huge range. Counter: Stay at maximum distance or hold guard. Some players choose to ignore this attack entirely and focus on dodging other attacks.
Boss slams the ground creating shockwaves. Counter: Jump and air-dodge.
⚠️ CRITICAL: If your Pyron gauge reaches 0, you receive a LETHAL counter-attack! Always maintain Pyron above zero. Use fire attacks to restore Pyron.
The boss becomes more aggressive. Lightning attacks appear and can be blocked. The backstab loop strategy (2 hits → backstab → repeat) is highly effective in this phase.
Area-wide lightning strikes. Counter: BLOCK — never dodge. Dodging lightning leaves you vulnerable to follow-up attacks.
When Pyron hits zero, boss immediately counter-attacks for massive damage. Prevention: Always keep Pyron above 0 using fire attacks.
Fast multi-hit combo string. Counter: Guard through the combo, wait for the gap, then backstab.
Hit the boss 2 times → backstab (dodge behind) → repeat. This avoids the boss's guard counter and keeps Pyron flowing. Do NOT try to trade hits — always backstab.
The boss reveals its true form with the most dangerous attack patterns. Same Pyron mechanics apply. The fight becomes a battle of attrition — patience is your greatest weapon.
Enhanced sweeping attack covering more area. Counter: Jump backward.
Faster and more frequent lightning. Counter: Always guard when lightning appears.
Boss chains multiple attacks together. Counter: Survive. Focus on defense until the combo ends, then resume backstab loop.
The Pyron gauge is your survival resource in Phases 2 and 3. When it hits zero, you take a lethal counter-attack. Keep it above zero at all times using fire attacks.
This cannot be stressed enough: Lightning attacks in ALL phases can be blocked. Dodging lightning leaves you open to follow-up attacks and does NOT prevent the lightning from hitting.
Best for Phase 2-3 survival
Keeps Pyron flowing in Phases 2-3. Fire attacks restore Pyron while dealing damage.
Maximum backstab loop damage
Focus on the 2-hit → backstab loop. High damage, high skill ceiling.
