20+ unique bosses await. Each has learnable patterns and exploitable weaknesses.
Before you click into any individual guide, read this. We rank every Solateria boss on four axes — the same four we use when reviewing community-submitted strategies. Once you understand the framework, the per-boss pages make a lot more sense and you can adapt the advice to your own build.
How aggressively the boss drains your stamina through combo strings. Rated Low / Medium / High / Brutal. Brutal means you cannot dodge-roll every attack — you must learn to parry at least one move per cycle, or you'll spend the whole fight on the floor.
Example: Seed Bureau Chief is Brutal. The dodge-roll cost on his 3-hit combo is 75% of your stamina bar, so dodging is only a fallback — parrying the middle hit is the actual game plan.
How long after the boss's combo you have to land hits before it retaliates. Measured in attack counts (1, 2, 3+). A 1-punish boss is glass-cannon-friendly; a 3+ punish boss favors heavy weapons and parry-master builds.
Example: Pyron Commander gives you 1-2 hits; the Five Knights give you 3+. Same parry timing, very different optimal weapons.
What causes the boss to enrage / change moveset. Usually HP-based, but Seed Bureau Chief and Ember Core Guardian have unique triggers (HP-drain counter, parry-count). The triggers are documented per-boss but this is also the most common place to make a mistake — the boss "suddenly" hits harder because you crossed a phase line you didn't know existed.
Pro tip: if a boss feels like it "cheated" by getting faster, it almost certainly hit a phase trigger. Re-read the guide.
Which of the four core builds (Turtle, Glass Cannon, Parry Master, Curse Weaver) has the highest clear-rate time and the lowest death-rate. The matchup is not always obvious — Curse Weaver is S-tier on Library Master but C-tier on the Five Knights, for example, because the knight enrage cleanses debuffs.
We keep a running matchup table below.
Averaged over 5 runs by our 3 editors, level 40, weapon +5, no coop. Lower is better. A blank means we don't have clean data (e.g. Glass Cannon on Turtle-check bosses is intentionally suicidal).
| Boss | Turtle | Glass Cannon | Parry Master | Curse Weaver |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Gatekeeper of Terradin | 3:20 | 1:45 | 2:10 | 3:50 |
| Moss Guardian | 2:50 | 1:30 | 2:00 | 3:20 |
| Pyron Commander | 4:10 | 2:05 | 1:55 | 3:45 |
| Seed Bureau Chief | 5:30 | 2:20 (unsafe) | 3:10 | 4:00 |
| Five Knights (full chain) | 9:45 | 5:20 | 7:30 | 8:50 (debuff wipes) |
| Library Master | 6:00 | 3:30 | 4:20 | 3:50 |
| Ember Core Guardian | 8:20 | 4:50 (risk) | 6:40 | 7:20 |
Color coding: green = safe pick, amber = fast but risky, red = intentionally unsafe (you'll die a lot).
